ISABHEL: NHAZCA’s New Mission Kicks Off Successfully

NHAZCA is excited to announce the successful Kick-Off Meeting of the ISABHEL project (Integrated Satellite and Ground-based Monitoring for Bridge Health Lifetime), recently held in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino, S2R, and NPlus. This innovative project responds to the European Space Agency (ESA) “5G for L’ART” call and marks a significant advancement in infrastructure monitoring.

NHAZCA leads the Business Application of the ARTES 4.0 – 5G program, leveraging 5G technologies to provide critical qualitative and quantitative information for effective bridge management. ISABHEL aims to create a continuous monitoring system capable of identifying areas that require predictive maintenance, enhancing financial resilience of assets and preventing potential disasters.

The proposal is based on the synergistic use of various technologies and the integration of heterogeneous data at different resolutions, such as SAR satellite data combined with contact sensors that transmit information through a robust 5G platform. This approach will provide essential informational support for asset decision-makers, improving the safety and efficiency of maintenance operations. The project’s pilot cases concern the structural health of bridges located on the Po River, recognized as the architectural heritage of the City of Turin.

The ISABHEL project is characterized by the high professionalism and experience of the consortium’s technical and scientific team in assessing geological risks and identifying bridge vulnerabilities.
