NHAZCA at the Earth Technology Expo 2022

From Wednesday 5 October to Saturday 8 October, the second edition of the Earth Technology Expo will be held in Florence, Italy, organised by the Earth and Water Agenda (EWA) foundation and Firenze Fiera, and promoted by Protezione Civile, ISPRA, Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco, Agenzia per la Coesione Territoriale and ANBI.

Focusing on the development of sustainable technologies, the event aims to highlight the importance of the management and control of natural hazards and anthropogenic risks for the environment, climate and cities.

Also this year NHAZCA will take part in the event in collaboration with CERI ( Centre for Research, Prediction, Prevention and Control of Geological Risks) of Sapienza University of Rome with an exhibition stand where it will be possible to receive more information about the monitoring of natural hazard and infrastructural risks through innovative remote sensing and data analysis techniques. From 5 to 8 October, experts from our team will present to visitors the peculiarities and potential of the technique based on PhotoMonitoring and the IRIS software developed by NHAZCA.

During the four days, it will be possible to take part in interesting conferences and presentations (programme). In particular, on 5 and 6 October there will be a number of lectures by Prof. Paolo Mazzanti, CEO of NHAZCA. More specifically:

  • On Wednesday, 5 October, at 3.30 p.m., in the Ronda Room, there will be a presentation on “A cosa serve InSAR: ambiti di applicazione” as part of the workshop ‘“La Terra vista dal cielo: aspetti metodologici e applicativi della tecnica InSAR per l’analisi del ground motion”;
  • On Thursday, 6 October, two forums dedicated to Earth Observations will be held in the Margherita Hack room:
    • “Il monitoraggio e la conservazione del patrimonio culturale”, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., with a presentation entitled: “The contributions of monitoring technologies for the management of architectural heritage and cultural assets”.
    • “Mobility, safety and security of transports networks and civil infrastructure management”, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The Earth Technology Expo will take place at Fortezza da Basso and provides free admission for visitors. It will also be possible to follow the workshops and speeches by live streaming.
